Okay, so after reading through, I'm still a bit confuzzled.
Game releases on the 28th. I preordered from EBoutique, does this mean that I and the other preorders get access to the game before everyone else? IE, we can go in and pick it up before the 28th? And can we access the game online before the 28th? Has this all been officially confirmed? |

It comes out the 28th but..
You will not recieve the game on the 28th if you pre-ordered it, atleast that is how it usually is.
You will recieve the game either a couple days later or whatnot...this is if the game is shipping to your house. If the you "reserved" the game than you should be able to pick it up at your local EBgames store or Gamestop and get it. This is a much more preffered option, and is the one where you bought the game with preorder disc inside (beta keys, screenshots, music, etc.) Hope that helped. |

So I have to get the preorder package (they were out of them at the time, were reordering more) and that'll let me play online until the game becomes available to the general public on the 28th?

Pre Order Players Get to Play Early?
After reading that Pre order players get to start playing Guild Wars earlier than the rest I contacted EB Games to find out whether this was happening. They told me that they would be giving the game out on the 28th regardless of whether you preordered or not. Im from New Zealand so perhaps that has something to do with it.
Anyone else finding they are in the same situaiton as me? |

Release day down under?
I know the release day is the 28th but will that be in Australia, from what i been told because we don't have our own sever we'll have to log on to the US sever. but we're a day ahead of the states, so what's the go? Do we have to wait for the US severs to go up or will we get in early?

Made a simple thing confusing guys
Somewhere along the ways you guys have made a simple idea really confusing and are telling yourself your right here. But sit back and think this through for a sec ... all of us who pre-ordered are entitled to access the game 48 hours prior to release.
The actual release date is the 28th. So "Joe Smith" from Los Angelas, will walk into his local retailer pick up his copy on the 28th and play that day! All of us who get the advance, can access it 48 hours prior. Your calculations keep showing 24 hours prior and 24 after it is released to the public. Thats not right. 48 hours equals the 26th. so we will be able to access the game on Teusday. It comes to the public Thursday, except if you bought it at EB ... they should have it Teusday for their pre-order list only, mine will have it anyways. So we can access it before, but then our accounts will freeze on the 28th. We then have to type in our access code from the 'release box' to re-activate or un-freeze our accounts. Cheers, and I'll see you online! |

Its not 48 before release, its 48 hours with out a retail cd-key. You can play the 47tt-48th withouth a key, i.e. 48 hours. |

All right, here's ArenaNets' support listing on it. Please notice that it says "up to 48 hours of game time before Guild Wars is on the shelves". It does not strictly say that you will have exactly 48 hours of Early Access, but somewhere between 0 and 48 hours.
They do however list the times that Early Access will be provided as "12:01 a.m. Pacific Time (08:01 GMT) on April 27th, and end at 11:59 p.m. Pacific on April 28th (07:59 GMT April 29th)", which seems to be roughly 48 hours. Since the game does release on the 28th though I'd wager that the other assumptions that you may use your pre-order key until 11:59 p.m. on April 28th before putting in your retail key are correct. Still, I don't work for ArenaNet, so my word on this is not law. Hopefully they'll make good on their "more details will be provided closer to launch" statement at the bottom of the support listing. the official statement was for one day early for pre orders which is 24 hours
in addition the preorder key would be good for another 24 hours of the day of the release (48 hours minus 2 minutes) at which time you must enter a retail key to continue playing both 24 and 48 hour timing explained nobody is on prior to the 27th because the servers will not be live until then |

also. on the last bwe. the guild cape only cost 100gold. i heard it was 1000gold at the previous bwes.
anyone know if it will be back to 1000gold for a cape @ full release. Im sure no one would complain if it was kept at 100gold. |

I don't know about you, but I don't like guild capes. It takes away from the character's costume

brings me to my question: has anyone seen this. your 1st charac has a guild and when you played your second charac @ lvl 1, did it already have a cape, or just the tag w/o a cape. which will that mean it can make another cape design w/ the same guild name...or be forced to buy the existing guild cape design...etc... if someone can clarify. that would be great. |

I have 4 characters. Will all 4 names be reserved for me?
When I log in...I am asked my email address and password...there is nowhere to put in a retail key. Will I have to install the new retail CD in order to be given that option? I assume I can just load the CD over top of what I already have. |
